Maple (sycamore): This tree exhibits a particularly light-colored, almost white wood. The diffuse coloring lends a plain texture to its wood. Its high abrasion resistance and density make it an excellent wood for floors and furniture, but also turneries and toy makers appreciate maple wood. Specialities: musical instruments made of nogged maple and inlays made of bird´s-eye maple.
